  1. Brilliant information thanks again. I’m having problems getting hair affinity amino mask do you know where I can get it I’m living in Ireland. Thanks Rosemary

  2. Thank you for another great in-depth blog. You are a curl genius, my thick coarse dense curly hair has got so many compliments since following you. Love the LMG method

  3. Thank you for such an insightful and comprehensive post! I use many of the products you recommend (as i’ve followed you for years) and they’ve transformed my hair! I recently took the plunge and got my hair coloured, and wondered if its still ok to use the bounce curl clarifying shampoo regularly, or do you recommend switching to a colour specific one? I also currently use the Innersense Pure inspiration conditioner, and likewise wondered if I should switch to their colour radiance conditioner to maintain the colour?

Hi Kathy, thanks so much – that’s so great to hear! Okay, so definitely check out the post I wrote on how to maintain healthy hair when colouring. But the Bounce Curl Clarifying Shampoo is absolutely fine to use when your hair is coloured, it’s sulfate free and colour safe. I wouldn’t pay too much attention to the names of the Innersense lines, switch to the Colour Radiance Conditioner if your hair feels a little dry, or the waves/curls are dropping out of your hair quicker than usual. Hope that helps, anything more than that check out the blog or book in for a Curl Clinic.

  4. Thank you so much! I bought the Hairfinity Hair Strengthening Amino Treatment Masque on your recommendation. I usually use CurlJunkie’s Repair Me.

The code for Giovanni is not working. Their Smooth as Silk Shampoo and Conditioner are my family’s favorites!

Noticed you did not include the Matrix Biolage conditioner this year.
Is it no longer a favourite?
    Always enjoy your list.

    1. Gabriella says:

No, I prefer the Bounce Curl Ayurvedic Deep Conditioner because it’s more user friendly, simply because it’s less potent.

  7. Thanks for this very comprehensive list and the enclosed links, Gabriella, and also for warning about that expensive site – appreciate that so much!

    1. Gabriella says:

Thanks Gail! I was hesitant to include that other side, and so disappointed but the price increase was just too ridiculous not to give a warning about. x

  8. I love all of this in-depth knowledge and product information, thank you!!!

This is great info, thank you.
As a pro stylist, I wish the terms Clarifying & Chelating were used properly. A true clarifier has a high PH in order to remove oils, silicones, & other product buildup from the surface of the hair & scalp. A true Chelator removes magnetically attached minerals inside the hairs cuticle & must process underheat to work effectively.

  10. Thank you so much! I am interested to see what hairdryer you would recommend for those of us that aren’t in UK, Ireland and Sweden.

    1. Gabriella says:

Sure, I’ve got a blog post that I linked in that section of this post on the best hair dryers and diffusers for curly hair where I went through alternatives.
